Academics as an Institutionalised learning create a
society of knowledge. Academic means a
learning of idea or vision or perception.
That is why Academic and Vocational learning are two separate stream of
education.
The purpose of vocational learning is to develop
skills, whereas the academic play a role of creation of vision and enterprising
with the available skill or towards creation of skills. Skills make people, an employee, whereas,
vision makes people, an employer.
The theory of class war
is a perception of some academicians who visualised that there is no taker of have-not. During that period, i.e. the process of
industrialisation, it was a transition from the agricultural economy to
Industrial economy due to mass production.
Since this was a process of transition, there were many sections of the
society that was barred from the process.
Industrialisation was a process of replacing manual labour to the
machinery production.
The academic discourse
on ‘have-not’ created a vision of
neglected section of the society. Since
‘have’ were occupied to their proliferation of trade and skills, they did not
put any efforts toward the inclusiveness of the society. This separated Academic perception from
Vocational skills.
In tune of separation
of Academic and Vocation, they grew themselves by conflicting each other. Vocation created its domination through
skills, research and development, marketing and minting money through the social
consumption. Whereas, Academic created a
theology of class-war to target the stream of vocation. It captured every educational stream and used
its student to create conflicts. The
academic discourse remained within the framework of conflicts. The skills of lawyers, media, writers and teachers
became tool of conflicting system, i.e. class war. To attain Social Justice
through the tool of conflicts remained the strategies of class war theory. This further expanded the gap between
Vocation and Academic learning.
The Lawyers took over
the political establishments, Media became the voice of people and Teachers
became the activities of dissent and protest.
These squeezed Academics perception and became a tool of political activism
and mass mobilisation.
Due to conflict between
‘vision’ and ‘skill’, vocation remained independent and remained mere
economy. In the absence of ‘vision’
economy became coercive and skilled remained captivated in the hands of
immorality. This resulted, though there
have been a very high technological development, but it is not yielding the
benefit to the society as universal. For
example, the highest form of technological development in the field of medical
science is being used by the Criminal syndicates of Organ smuggling. This is a very big challenge for the
‘receiver’ and the ‘donor’ since both are victims of the technology.
The split between academic
and vocation is creating unemployment in the society. This is resulting shattering societies.
The crux of this issues
is that unless we build a bridge between Academic and Vocation, the society
will be directionless since there is no other way to go ahead.
